Well, this week was the "official" second week of my Family class. Wow this class is absolutely amazing! I want to share some fun things I was able to learn about.
In this class I have learned a lot about what the world thinks of families and what we (lds) think of families. The world currently finds family life unappealing, statics show that more people are cohabitation together then taking the plunge to get married. What is hard is people don't value marriage like they used too. As a class we talked about reasons people get married and here are some of the reasons we came up with; pregnancy, $$, tradition, love, and attention. After discussing that aspect we talked about why lds people get married and here were some conclusions; eternal life, companionship, physical intimacy, pressure, and love.
It was amazing to see the differences from the worldly aspect and lads aspect. Of course this is just a general assumption, not every one is like this.
With all of this said I think its amazing to see the differences in what people think marriage is to them. I can't wait to dig in more and find why people think this way.
Tell me what you think, I'd love to here.
